One of our finest Ohio Villages – nestled along the southern bank of the Maumee River just southwest of Toledo, is Grand Rapids. Visitors to Grand Rapids are able to step back in time and enjoy the natural setting of this restored canal town.  Shopping Northwest Ohio takes on a whole new meaning as visitors shop ’til they drop for antiques, gifts, and collectibles – all in our restored canal town buildings that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  You may eat, drink, and be merry in a restored Victorian restaurant,  visit a totally restored water and steam powered mill, or even pretend that you are an 1800’s settler and ride the canal boat pulled by mules down the restored Miami & Erie Canal. Afterwards a picnic on the towpath between the Gilead Sidecut Canal and the Maumee River may just be in order.  As Ohio villages go, Grand Rapids is the best!
